This is the end... My only friend, the end...

The craziness of Bangkok to the burnt countryside of Melbourne, Texas has come home...

View Tasting Thailand 2009 on Nagizzle's travel map.

Well ladies and gents, the trip has come to a close...

The final sights that Texas got to see was that of the Grand Palace in Bangkok city. Would have loved to have a photo of me, Texas and the Emerald Buddha, but I didn't like the idea of being put into a Thai prison. So the below is a photo of me and a Cherid (guard) outside the temple with the royal Buddha, but inside the grad palace.

As stated in the last post, Texas now carries scars after the attack from a 4 month old tiger. The below photo is of said scars.

Texas-17_0..e_Scars.jpg

Unfortunately, in our last days in Chiang Mai (which were awesome, zip line jungle flights, coking courses and tigers) both Christine and I fell victim to a cold/flu like thing. As such, once we got to the hotel, we didn't do much at all. A few hours of shopping here and there, the Grand Palace and that was it. A little disappointing, but better to be sick at the end of the holiday then in the middle of it.

So the flight back with JetStar was looking to be terrible, especially since sleeping tablets cannot be sold without prescription in Thailand (stupid idea, I know...). Yet, as both of us were feeling like crap, we asked the pharmacist what we could take as we were leaving Bangkok. He looked at us, looked at the door and then ducked under the bench. Pulled out a little zipper bag and handed us a blister pack of unknown tablets. He then said "1 tablet only", smiled and took our money. So on the plane, we looked at this pack of unknown substance and took one pill each. For the first 45 to an hour, we had no sleepiness and then, like a freight train, bang! we were out. The 9 hour flight seemed so fats, i slept for over 6 hours... Gotta love when that happens.. I am still curious though as to what the tablets are?

So anyhow, back in Melbourne now, Texas beside me and the trip is done...

Texas tours even further...

Pai Pt 3 and Chaing Mai... Elephants, monkeys and Tigers...

Well, we are now in Chaing Mai after the grueling 3.5 hour bus ride from Pai.
Its good to be in a city again, to actually have some noise around us at night...

We arrived in Chaing Mai on the eve of the three day long Flower Festival. Didnt think much of it, but the amount of partying, food and beer these Thais do is amazing.. They are starting to wear me out..

Texas has some updates too. In fact, he discovered "Ting Tong"...

"Are you Ting Tong?!?"

While taking the following picture,

Texas fell from my hand, which resulted in me running after him in a fast current...
09_02_2009..River_2.jpg
Texas has a bit of a funky smell now....

As mentioned, the Chaing Mai Flower Festival was on, so here is a pic of the festival on the street...

And one of a flower...

The following are just some photos of Texas at a Wat...

Next we have Texas with the Elephants...

and a Monkey...

Next is Texas and me at "THC", which is a roof top bar over looking Taphe Gate...

Then we wet to see some Tigers.. We got to play with 4 tiger cubs that were 4 months old.
Cute things that wanted to play a lot.. So when I pulled Texas out, this one smelt it, and thought it was on...

Texas now has battle scars. A little chunk out of the rubber backing.. Unfortunately the mouse pad is otherwise unharmed.

Finally, I said to you all that I wanted to have a photo taken with Texas and a bar girl, and Texas and a Lady-boy. Well ladies and gentlemen, I out did myself... I took this challenge to the next level and not only made myself uncomfortable, but I think this tops Texas' entire trip. Ladies and gents, I give you the Lady-boy bar girls!!

So that's about it for now... I am sure that all this has blown you away and your now salivating for more, but it will have to wait. We are here for a few more nights then down to Bangkok. I'll see if i can squeeze in another update before Bangers...

Pai has an effect on everyone... Even Texas...

Texas sees the hills, Wats and other sights of Pai - Pt 2

View Tasting Thailand 2009 on Nagizzle's travel map.

Well, we leave Pai tomorrow, 6th and neither Christine, Texas or I really want to. The sights, sounds and tastes of Pai are amazing and it truly is the only place where we have ever been able to relax and forget about the world. But, alas, I must continue my quest to get a photo of Texas and a Lady-boy. I am thinking Chiang Mai will be the best place for that...

Pai is an amazing place full of hills, hot springs, quiet tranquility and an abundance of really chill, relaxed people. Think of a small town where everyone smiles, helps each other and no one has a chip on their shoulders. Thats something like Pai..

Texas has had a bit of fun too, in fact, I almost lost him.. He has seen the hills, the canyon, the caves, rice paddies, views and even rode a motor bike... See below..

Inside the 1.6km trip through Lod Cave, Texas sees the light..
Texas-05_0..od_Cave.jpg

Being in Thailand, Texas had to see why Thailand is the worlds biggest exporter of rice.. Think this answers it..
Texas-05_0..e_Paddy.jpg

Pai Canyon is an amazing place, hills and narrow tracks that would easily lead to your death...
Texas in a tree.. What could make the lynch capital of the world prouder?
Texas-05_0..anyon_1.jpg Texas-05_0..anyon_2.jpg

This is where I almost lost Texas.. Well, lost and intentionally threw are two things that are easily interchangeable.
Its actually a 30 meter drop to the bottom of the canyon...
Texas-05_0..anyon_3.jpg

Then me looking really cool on a ledge, with a 40 meter drop behind me.. With Texas...
Texas-05_0..anyon_4.jpg

Texas likes the bike... Nothing like having no bike license, no sense and a dirt roads to make for a fun holiday...
Texas-05_0.._Bike_1.jpg Texas-05_0.._Bike_2.jpg Texas-05_0.._Bike_3.jpg

Here are some of the amazing views of Pai... With Texas...
Texas-05_0..i_Hills.jpg Texas-05_0.._View_1.jpg Texas-05_0.._View_3.jpg

And finally, I got one with Christine...
Texas-05_0.._view_2.jpg

So now we head to Chaing Mai to sit with Monks, play with tigers and hopefully, get a pic with a Lady-Boy...

Until next time...

Texas Pai??

Texas sees the hills, Wats and other sights of Pai - Pt 1

View Tasting Thailand 2009 on Nagizzle's travel map.

Well, after all this time, I am finally in the place where I feel I am home. Back to beautiful Pai and all the hippy happenings that comes with it. From the drunken nights to the hang over bike rides, Pai offers it all.

Haven't taken many photos of Texas in Pai as yet, but there is plenty of time left.
So far Texas has been lucky enough to see the hills from a hill top Wat, recline with Buddah, sit on the crotch of a Wat guard and be close to an elephant.

So here are some quick snap shots of that...

At the top of a massive hill (thank god for motor bikes) Texas has a chance to see the wonders of Pai.
Texas-02_0..9-Pai_1.jpg

Even Texas likes to pay his respects to the Thai religion, although he really isn't into it...
Texas-02_0..9-Pai_2.jpg

Reclining with the fat man himself...
Texas-02_0..9-Pai_3.jpg

We all know that Texas loves the saussage as seen in the last post, but sitting on a crotch is a bit much...
Texas-02_0..9-Pai_5.jpg

Finally, Texas getting up close and personal with nature...
Texas-02_0..9-Pai_4.jpg

More of Pai to come, but now i must go recline in my hammock...

Texas Loves Saussage!!

I saw this and instantly thought of Texas and Adrian...

Well, this one will be short, but oh so sweet....

Whilst in the Chaing Rai market I saw this shop front, it was nothing like I had ever seen before. I had to do a double take to make sure that I was actually reading what I thought I was...

I saw this, and I knew that I had come to Thailand for a reason. This was a sight that I would pay for many times over. My only wish is that one day I could see this image some where in Australia.

Adrian, I challenge you to bring this to Aus!!!

Ladies and Gents, I will hold you in suspense no longer.
I give you Saussage Lovers...

Enjoy...
